George Max Olshin Z”L

In loving memory of George Max Olshin, core pillar of Cascadia Clusters’ vision and progress.

George led development of ultra-affordable housing and training of formerly homeless and recovering addicts in Portland, Oregon with his nephew Andy Olshin until his passing. He requested that any donations in his memory be made to support Andy’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Cascadia Clusters.

$180 donation pays a trainee’s wages for one day.

$360 supports our expert trainers, many also in recovery, as they help neighbors lift themselves up and find purpose while constructing human housing.

$1,800 will fund a season of planting bountiful vegetables for local low income community members in George and Churney’s Memorial Farm.

George and his friend Churney began a memorial garden and working farm on 1/4 acre in urban Portland as a gathering space for community members in a low income neighborhood (Hazelwood-Centennial).

Donations will support development of the garden and neighboring “tiny house” community.
